The Winnie Kiiza Foundation was born in the Rwenzori sub-region and has since grown to support women and youth across Uganda and the wider region. Born out of a commitment to peace, justice, and inclusive development, the Foundation works to transform the challenges of conflict, poverty, and inequality into opportunities for leadership, empowerment, and social transformation.
Today, WKF continues to build a legacy of leadership by equipping young people and women with the skills, resources, and platforms they need to thrive and shape a more just and inclusive future.
WKF works to equip its target beneficiaries through the following programs
Our goal is to ensure that education opens doors to opportunity, dignity, and a brighter future.
We equip young people and women to participate meaningfully in democratic processes, entrepreneurship, and social change.
We create safe spaces where communities can come together to listen, share, and build understanding across differences.
We use the power of sports and play to bring people together, break down barriers, and promote unity.
Working with school clubs and community groups, we provide leadership and peace-building skills that prepare learners to become active citizens and positive role models in their communities.
Our work focuses on empowering women as agents of change; equipping them with knowledge, resources, and a voice in decision making on climate action.
At the Winnie Kiiza Foundation, we believe lasting change comes from empowering individuals and strengthening communities. Our approach is holistic and inclusive; addressing education, leadership, peace building, and climate justice together, while recognising the unique challenges women and youth face.
We work through collaboration, dialogue, and mentorship, ensuring that our programs not only meet immediate needs but also build long-term resilience. By combining skills development, community engagement, and advocacy, we help create pathways for women and young people to lead with confidence and contribute to a more peaceful and just society.
